2012 BRINGS WITH IT A WHOLE NEW LOOK!
 "Garson Studios" |
 "Eaves Movie Ranch" |
The International Stunt School under the auspicious of the United Stuntmen's Association and On Edge Productions has entered into a partnership and collaboration with the Garson Studios and Santa Fe University. With this mutually beneficial arrangement, the I.S.S. further confirms it's reputation as the foremost stunt training facility worldwide. The stunt school will now have schools located in both Seattle and Santa Fe. The Seattle school will continue to provide it's "Standard Stunt Training" as it enters it's 20th year of operation. An "Advanced/FX Training" will be initiated at Santa Fe University and the Garson Studios which will be coupled with the "Intensive Aerial Training" that has been a part of the Seattle training for a number of years. The aerial training and the advanced/FX training will be a two week intensive training that will provide an advanced agenda that has been in the works for several years. The two week training will be formally initiated and introduced in May of 2013. With the generosity of Santa Fe University and Garson Studios, the International Stunt School has found the perfect combination of facilities and cooperation to formalize a complete stunt training that offers prospective students not only an opportunity to explore all technical aspects of the stunt industry including "special effects" but also an opportunity to witness films being made while training for the stunt industry! The Garson Studios will be open to our students as a teaching facility whereby stunt students will be able to see first hand how films are produced including the possibility of our students being utilized in various capacities. The International Stunt School has been exploring and evaluating the right opportunity to further it's agenda as the foremost stunt training facility in the world and at long last it appears that a perfect match has been made! The move to Santa Fe is just one more example of our determination to give our participants the best possible training in this competitive market. The International Stunt School remains the foremost stunt training facility in the industry. We continue to be the only "licensed and registered" stunt school, and we remain the bench mark for those schools that endeavor to emulate us. This is due primarily to the constant upgrading and refinement of the curriculum and the quality of our staff. Over the past 19 years we have created a team philosophy in our approach to developing "stunt performers" which has significantly benefited our students whereby they are now entering the stunt industry at an accelerated pace well beyond our prior years and far beyond our competition.
We have often encouraged prospective students to "read between the lines" when making a decision regarding where they intend to pursue their stunt training. Some questionable examples that require scrutiny can be found on other websites. For instance, you will find a stunt school claiming professionalism and yet the founder of the school has never coordinated a stunt on a professional film set? Another school overwhelmingly exaggerates how many students they have trained over the years while suggesting at the same time it will only cost you $10,500.00 to train with them for 4 weeks in only 6 disciplines?! And yet another school claims to teach you 13 disciplines in just one week for $2000.00 with one instructor? (we have 12). It is important to note that none of the aforementioned schools offer precision driving or aerial wire work which are two of the mainstays in the stunt profession today! Ironically, we are expanding our driving venue even more this year along with more advanced aerial work. Again...we urge you to read between the lines when selecting a school. Training is expensive and making poor choices can be devastating. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Lastly, keep in mind that the trainings we offer in totality are comparable to a full semester in a public university both in the number of hours we provide and the varied disciplines that make up our curriculum. It costs on average $11000.00 per semester to attend a public university in the U.S. with no guarantees after graduation. It will cost approximately $8000.00 to take all of the courses we offer as the premiere stunt school in the industry. The chances are far greater that you will find a place in the film industry upon graduation....especially with the present economic environment. And this can be accomplished via 6 weeks of professional training as opposed to 4 years in university. Something to think about!
